Former editors of Signs discuss their histories with the journal; their experiences watching the field of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies change over the course of the journal’s lifespan; and their sense of what challenges Signs may face in the future, among many other topics.
Combining the conversations with the six Signs editors we spoke to for the anniversary, this video focuses in on several key themes that were shared among all the editors. After founding editor Catharine R. Stimpson tells the story of how the journal came to be, we hear about the editors’ proudest achievements, the contours of the field when they served as editors, and the challenges that both the field and the journal might face in the future.
