Currents is part of the Feminist Public Intellectuals Project.
This installation of Currents examines the concept of trigger warnings, featuring an essay by Jack Halberstam and a digital archive related to the topic.
Trigger Happy: From Content Warning to Censorship
Digital Archive: Trigger WarningsThis digital archive extends the themes of Halberstam's essay to examine debates around trigger warnings and feminist theorizing about victimization and trauma, censorship and academic freedom, and pedagogy. It collects links to essays, videos, podcasts, and other resources. While far from exhaustive, we hope it will be of use to teachers, students, and anyone interested in issues of trigger warnings. To suggest any useful resources on the topic that are not currently included, we invite you to email the journal office.
Special thanks to Jack Gronau, Lauren Kuryloski, and Firuzeh Shokooh Valle for their research and help organizing this digital archive, and to Natalya Jean for her help in assembling it
